Seaside Press Release New Tournament Directors

chamberSEASIDE, OR – The Seaside Chamber board of directors are excited to announce NWAS/Bad Boys Open Volleyball as tournament directors for its annual Seaside Chamber Beach Volleyball event. 2016 marks the 35th anniversary for this annual event. Last year 1509 teams competed on 134 courts. “This event continues to grow exponentially each year,” noted Seaside Chamber Executive Director Susan Huntington. “We’ve reached our capacity to set up courts on the beach so we are focusing on improving the player experience and growing teams by becoming more efficient in managing the teams.” NWAS and Bad Boys Open Volleyball are two Portland groups operated by Deng Thepharat, PT Thilavanh and Mike Griffin. They are active members of the volleyball seasidecommunity and former players at the Seaside tournament.   “We are very excited to share our love of volleyball and our mission of helping grow the sport in our region,” says NWAS co-founder Deng Thepharat. Huntington added, “Their team brings a new level of enthusiasm and energy to our efforts and will also incorporate new technology that will improve our tournament.”  READ MORE…
